Application Requirements
Junior Session applicants must be between the ages of 10-13 in July. Senior Session applicants must be between the ages of 13-19 in July. Thirteen year-olds are welcome to apply to either session.
New students must submit an audio or video recording of two contrasting pieces on the application page, meeting the minimum level requirements as outlined below. Returning students must submit recordings by June 1st.
New students must arrange to have a letter sent from their private or school music teacher. Letters should be emailed to director@musicatportmilford.org.
Separate from Tuition fees, all applications must include a non-refundable $60 registration fee.
Upon completion of all required steps, applications will be considered.
Junior Session Qualifications
Strings:
At least 3 years of previous study recommended, ability to read in up to 3 flats and sharps, sight-reading experience.
Please note: Canadian String students should be working at a minimum of a RCM Level 4, or its equivalent.
Piano:
Piano applicants should be proficient sight-readers. All pianists will receive their repertoire assignments at least two weeks before the first day of MPM.
Minimum repertoire experience:
Beethoven Sonata in G minor, op. 49 no. 1*
Chopin Waltz in B minor, op. 69 no. 2*
Canadian Piano students should have completed R.C.M. Level 7, or its equivalent.

Senior Session Qualifications
Strings:
Proficiency in 3 octave scales, sight-reading skills, ensemble experience.
Minimum repertoire experience:
Violin: Nardini concerto in E minor*
Viola: Telemann Concerto in G*
Cello: Vivaldi Sonata in e minor*
Bass: Marcello Sonata*
