Applicants must be between the ages of 12-18.
All students must submit an audio or video recording of two contrasting pieces.
Submissions should be made online, meeting the minimum level requirements as outlined below.
New students must arrange to have a letter sent from their private or school music teacher. Letters should be emailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Upon completion of all required steps, applications will be considered.
Minimum String Level Qualifications
Proficiency in 3 octave scales, sight-reading skills, ensemble experience
String students should be working at a minimum of a Royal Conservatory of Music Level 7, or its equivalent
Violin: Nardini concerto in E minor*
Viola: Telemann Concerto in G*
Cello: Vivaldi Sonata in e minor*
Bass: Marcello Sonata*
Minimum Piano Level Qualifications
Piano applicants should be proficient sight-readers, as repertoire changes weekly
Piano students should have completed Royal Conservatory of Music Level 9, or its equivalent
Mozart Fantasia, K. 397*
Beethoven Sonata in G, op. 49 #2*
Chopin Prelude in F sharp minor*
Please note that pianists will only be accepted into Session I
Minimum Woodwind Level Qualifications
Wind students should be working at a minimum of a Royal Conservatory of Music Level 8, or its equivalent
Flute: Bach Sonata in E Flat, BWV 1031*
Oboe: Handel: Sonata in B Flat, HWV 357*
Clarinet: Schumann: Fantasiestücke #1*
Bassoon: Hindemith: Sonata*
French Horn: Mozart: Movements II and III from Concerto No. 3*
