Congratulations to Kokoe Tanaka Suwan, Former MPM Student, Featured in Oscar Nominated Film "Joe's Violin"

Tune in to the Oscars this Sunday to cheer on former Music at Port Milford student, Kokoe Tanaka Suwan, who is featured in the Oscar nominated short documentary film Joe's Violin.

Kokoe is a professional violinist and the music director at the Bronx Global Learning Institute for Girls, a school that was chosen to receive the violin of a Holocaust survivor, Joseph Feingold, who had donated his violin to the WQXR Instrument Drive. Joe's Violin tells the story of an unlikely friendship formed by music, hope, resilience and one very special violin (Salon.com).  Watch the full film here and don't forget to watch the Oscars this Sunday!
